In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and with the rise of anti-Asian violence, it became abundantly clear that the runway for collecting and amplifying our communities' stories of collective action and struggle was getting shorter and shorter.
Our leadership team responded to this call to action to not only preserve but also inspire our larger community for a better future. What started as a community grassroots project has rippled into new ventures and endeavors that have inspired many of us to tell our own stories. Three years later, our hope is to continue to inspire our community members to take on the baton and run with it—living up to the central mission that drives this project: uplifting the voices of our families, mentors, students, and other movers and shakers in the County. I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for our interviewees—may we forever be guided by your light.
